Ms. Rivera turned herself in yesterday and was arraigned on the charges filed by Detective Smith. She was released after posting-bond. We are thankful that Ms. Rivera turned herself in and made her arrest peaceful and safe for the Bureau and the Community. 

On 23 January 2022 at around 4:30 am a shooting occurred on the first block of Chesapeake St. in the city of Lancaster. Officers were sent to the location of the shooting as well as a local hospital where an adult male victim had arrived with a gunshot wound. The first call came in from hospital security. The victim is expected to survive the assault. Detective Willard Smith was assigned the case and has identified the Suspect, Janieca Rivera, as the shooter in this incident. A warrant was issued for her arrest today after Detective Smith charged her with Aggravated Assault (F1), Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), and Discharging a Firearm in the City of Lancaster (S). 

The Bureau of Police wish for Ms. Rivera to be apprehended safely. Any persons with knowledge of her whereabouts should call the front desk of the Bureau of Police and ask for Detective Smith or a working Detective at 717 735-3301. 

All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of Law.
