Update, September 10:
The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office and New Holland Borough Police Department continue to investigate the death of 65-year-old Nora Sanchez in the 300 block of East Main Street, New Holland, Lancaster County.
The New Holland Borough Police Department was dispatched for a welfare check at the above address by Sanchez’s family on September 1, 2021, shortly before 10:00 a.m. Officers discovered Sanchez deceased inside.
An autopsy performed by the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office September 2, 2021, determined Sanchez died by strangulation with evidence of sexual assault.
At the time of this release, no arrests have been made. Additional details will be released when appropriate as more information is discovered. Investigators continue to progress through the case, but citizens should continue to be vigilant until an arrest is made.

The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office and the New Holland Borough Police Department are investigating the death of a 65-year-old female who was found deceased in the 300 block of East Main Street, New Holland, Lancaster County.
On September 1, 2021, shortly before 10:00 a.m., the New Holland Borough Police Department were dispatched for a welfare check to the above address. Police discovered the female, identified as Nora Sanchez, inside her residence and determined that she was deceased. The results of an autopsy performed by the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office are pending, but the case is being investigated as a homicide.
