On March 29, 2021, at approximately 9:11 am, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of S. Duke Street, for a body that was found along the Conestoga River. Officers responded to the area and located an unknown male subject, partially submerged in the river, across from the 100 block of Reedy Lane. The deceased male's body appeared to have been there for a period of time and was removed from the water, with the assistance of the Lancaster City Fire Department and a local water rescue team. The Manheim Township Police Department also responded to the scene, but it was determined that the location was within Lancaster City.
Lancaster City Police Detectives responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. There were no obvious signs of trauma observed and police believe there is no danger to the public. Investigators are working with the Lancaster County Coroner's Office to determine the circumstances of the man's death and to confirm his identity.
