The Swatara Township Police Department offers Ride Along experiences for individuals who are interested in a career in law enforcement.  We also have a rolling application for internships with our police department.  Each applicant for both Ride Alongs and Internships must meet the following requirements:

1. Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
2. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen
3. Applicant must have a clean criminal history:  No criminal convictions (Misdemeanor 2 offense or higher grading)
4. Internships ONLY:  Must be enrolled in a college/university and the internship must provide additional college credits to the intern upon completion.  There is a minimum of 120 hours that must be completed during our internship.  Internship applications must be submitted to the department no later than 60 days prior to the start of the semester for which the internship is for (please review the internship application for additional information).  We do not offer paid internships with our police department.
