Operation Safe Stop is a proactive initiative aimed at ensuring the safety of students and pedestrians in Montour Township. As part of this operation, officers from the Montour Township Police Department conducted a targeted enforcement effort on 10/21/2026 to combat reckless and aggressive driving around school bus stops.

Operation Overview

During the morning and afternoon bus runs, officers followed four different bus routes to monitor driver behavior and identify potential safety risks. Additionally, a stationary patrol vehicle was positioned near the 522 Montour Blvd bus stop, a high-complaint area, to provide an increased police presence.

Officers also were present at WW Evans Elementary School for morning arrival. 

Thankfully no violations were observed.
