The Brookhaven Borough Police Department is pleased to announce that it has received funding from the Delaware County Interactive Gaming Revenue Authority to enhance its emergency response capabilities. This grant has enabled us to purchase automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for each of our police vehicles. Currently, our agency relies on two AEDs that are shared among officers during shift changes. One of these units is nearly 20 years old and has exceeded its recommended service life. Despite their age, these AEDs have played a crucial role in saving lives on multiple occasions this year.
With this new funding, each patrol car will now be equipped with its own assigned AED, and a spare unit will be available for backup. This enhancement will ensure that our officers are well-prepared to respond to serious medical emergencies and provide timely assistance to those in need. We would like to extend our gratitude to Allegiance CPR & Training for their assistance in obtaining these life-saving devices.
