EXAMINATION FOR POLICE OFFICER

ELIGIBILITY LIST – MARPLE TOWNSHIP

Notice is hereby given that Marple Township will be conducting examinations for the position of police officer in order to create a candidate eligibility list.

Duties: Perform as a police officer for Marple Township. Age: Must be at least 21 years of age at application. As per the rules and regulations of the Marple Township Civil Service Commission, and as approved by Township Ordinance, the minimum requirements for application to the position of police officer in the Marple Township Police Department are hereby established to be the following:

Section 304.1.1: On or before the deadline for filing the application, each applicant for a position in the Police Department shall:

• be a citizen of the United States;

• have reached their twenty-first (21) birthday;

• possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a high school equivalency certification;

• have successfully completed the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers Education Training Commission Act 120 training, thereby being eligible for certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission;

• or be presently enrolled as a student in good standing in a certified municipal police academy.

Other requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must pass the following examination phases: (a) Physical agility test. (b) Written examination. (c) Oral examination. (d) Background investigation. (e) Physical examination. (f) Psychological examination.

Beginning Monday, July 20, 2026, applications will be available at the Marple Township Police Department, 1001 Sussex Boulevard, Broomall, PA 19008, or online at https://employment.marplepolice.com/. EOE. 

Applications must be returned to the Police Department at the above address or submitted electronically by emailing them to employment@marplepolice.com. Closing date for applications is Monday, October 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM. 

Physical agility, written, and oral examinations will all be administered on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
