In 1995, West Shore Regional Police was formed and has had the honor to serve the community of Wormleysburg since that time. WSRPD Officers believe this to be our home and take extreme pride in the community and citizens we serve. In 2025, Wormleysburg Borough began to study financial costs to the borough with a focus on the police services. This was secondary to rising costs across the borough's financial responsibilities. This is seen across the entire budget with increases in the cost for waste collection(153%) and park upgrades(673%). Police services are provided 24 hours a day and are currently at 40% of the borough's budget, which is consistent with the cost of police services. This has led Wormleysburg Borough Council to consider other avenues of decreased law enforcement services to the citizens of the community. A special meeting for public comment has been scheduled for Tuesday June 9, 2026 at 6PM in Knisely Hall (20 Market Street, Wormleysburg).
WSRPD does not wish to stop providing services to the borough, nor have services or responses provided decreased since this consideration has been announced. WSRPD remains committed and ready to work towards a financially responsible approach to both the agency and the borough with no change in services provided. We are asking all residents, business owners, and Wormleysburg tax payers to attend this meeting and voice your support of WSRPD and in general the need for proactive law enforcement services within your community. If you can not attend, we ask that you send a letter of support to Wormleysburg Borough Council (20 Market Street, Wormleysburg PA 17043) with special request that it be entered into PUBLIC COMMENT.
Any questions regarding West Shore Regional Police and the services we provide can be directed to Chief Anthony Minium.
