Pennridge Regional Officers handled 158 incidents during the week of March 3rd to the 9th. A total of 50 traffic citations and warnings were issued during the same week.
INCIDENTS
Disturbance: On March 3rd 2024 officers responded to the White Horse Inn for a report of an intoxicated patron causing a disturbance. Upon arrival officers spoke with employees who reported an individual who was non-English speaking and had consumed alcohol. Shortly after consuming the alcohol the patron began to cause an issue. After some time, the patron was transported home by police, without any charges being filed at the request of the business.
Threats: On March 8th 2024 officers were dispatched to the Pennridge High School for a report of a suspicious message left on the attendance voicemail. The message was investigated preliminarily and was found to not be credible. The investigation is ongoing.
ARRESTS INCIDENTS
Drug Arrest: A juvenile student was found to be in possession of a THC vape pen at the Pennridge High School, 1228 N. Fifth St., on March 7th 2024. A juvenile allegation was filed.
Theft: Ryan Ruth, 33 years old from Souderton, was charged on March 4th 2024 following a criminal investigation with several charges of theft and trespassing stemming from a February 21st 2024 investigation. On February 21st officers responded to Magnetic Specialties for a report of scrap metal from recycling containers behind the business. Mr. Ruth will have a preliminary hearing scheduled in the future.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
March 5th 2024: A report of a motor vehicle crash was dispatched to Pennridge Regional officers in the area of Ridge Road and Rt. 313. Upon arrival officers found a Kia had left the roadway, striking a ditch and rolled over. No injuries were reported at the scene, and the vehicle had to be towed.
March 9th 2024: Officers were dispatched to the area of the 600 block Allentown Road for a report of motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival officers found a GMC Yukon had ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The operator of the Yukon was not injured, but received numerous traffic citations.
