On 12/26/2,1 Saugerties Police responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on Washington Ave in the Village of Saugerties. Witnesses reported that prior to the arrival of officers, a blue dodge pickup truck with extensive damage had left the scene of the crash. Responding officers immediately located the truck further down on Washington Ave. The truck had sustained extensive front end damage. Following an investigation by police, 24-year-old Terrie Lawless of Saugerties, the truck operator, was arrested and charged with DWI and leaving the scene of the crash. Lawless was processed at Saugerties Police Headquarters and then released pending her appearance in the Village of Saugerties Justice Court to answer her charges.
