On Friday July 29, 2022, at 3:40PM Saugerties Police responded to the Wenton Motel located at 3127 Route 9W in the Town of Saugerties for a Disturbance call, argument between a patron and the office staff. Responding Officers were advised that the patron pulled a knife in the office during the argument. As a result of the police investigation, 36-year-old Spencer Lane of Saugerties, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree and Menacing in the 2nd Degree. During the course of an argument, Lane threatened a female Office worker with a knife. Lane was taken into custody at the scene and processed at Saugerties Police Headquarters. Lane, a Predicate Felon, was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail without bail.
