On January 5, 2022, at 11:44 PM, Saugerties Police responded to Malden Turnpike for a report of a domestic dispute. Investigation by officers determined that Thomas J. Colon, while in the course of a domestic dispute, struck the victim several times throughout the course of the evening, resulting in minor injuries to the victim. Additionally, it was determined that there was an active no-harass order of protection in effect against Colon issued out of the Town of Saugerties Justice Court on behalf of the victim. Colon was arrested and Processed at Saugerties Police Headquarters on the Felony charge of Criminal Contempt of a Court Order in the First Degree and the Misdemeanor of Attempted Assault in the Third Degree. Colon was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Justice Court, being remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of bail, $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
