The Corning Police Department is actively seeking qualified lateral transfer Police Officers. 

The following qualifications must be met by potential candidates:

• Must be currently employed with an agency, in the title of Police Officer or Deputy Sheriff, and off the required probationary period. 
• Must have NYS DCJS basic course certificate for Police Officer or certified by NYSDCJS, as a Police Officer. 
• Currently appointed from a NYS Civil Service list.
• Must have a valid New York State Driver's License. 
• Successful completion of a background investigation

The transfer is subject to the approval of the Steuben County Department of Personnel and Civil Service.
