For 125 years, the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police has been dedicated to providing training, legislative advocacy, and professional development for police executives. The organization routinely hosts major training conferences addressing contemporary public safety issues.
On May 19, 2026, Chief David Catholdi was sworn in as President of the NYS Association of Chiefs of Police by Brighton Town Supervisor Bill Moehle. He is the second Police Chief from the Town of Brighton to receive this distinguished honor. Chief Eugene Shaw previously served as President in 1986.
Chief Catholdi’s commitment to professional development and his vision for the future of law enforcement have positively impacted the Brighton Police Department. This standard of excellence will surely extend throughout the state during his tenure as President of NYSACOP.
Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. Your hard work and leadership will continue to make a lasting difference.
