Full-time Police Officer Opening

The Hillsboro Police Department is currently conducting a testing process for a full-time police officer position. A written test and physical fitness test will be administered on the dates listed.

Interested candidates can provide their resume and cover letter at the testing date or prior, to the e-mail address listed below. Furthermore, the candidate will be required to complete the medical clearance form prior to the test date. This form can be downloaded below.

Upon successfully completing the written and physical fitness exam, applicants will be required to complete the following: oral board interview, psychological exam, polygraph examination, and an extensive background investigation. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution, 21 years of age, US citizen, valid driver’s license. Certified police officers are encouraged to apply. Who are we:

We are a small, active community-oriented department with State Route 9, 202, 149, and 31 passing through town. We have 14 full-time officers and a dispatch center at headquarters. The salary range is $50,169 - $79,268 and currently, under a 3-year collective bargaining agreement, that includes 2% raises each year. This agreement also covers step increases, Longevity Pay, FTO Stipend, Education Stipend, and Tuition Assistance.
