Hidden in Plain Sight (HIPS) is a free community awareness program designed to educate parents and guardians on the signs of risky teen behavior. This mobile unit displays the various hazards of drug use and abuse along with the contraband that is commonly utilized to conceal risky behaviors from family and friends.  Our goal is to educate the public about the warning signs that could help mitigate and/or prevent drug use in the household.  A uniformed officer is present to provide information on current statistics, trends, and resources for help. Questions from participants are welcomed and encouraged.

This program is presented by Shelby Township PD with admission limited to adults only. The mobile unit is available to tour at National Night Out, the police department open house, the Shelby Twp Art Fair and is available on a limited basis for community events upon request.  To schedule a presentation, please complete the Request For Officer Presentation in the FORMS tab.  HIPS Mobile Unit presentations are limited by weather and space constraints.  Other presentation options may be available. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
