On November 17, 2022, The offender entered a business and while utilizing a mask to obscure his identity began to break a glass display with a large rock. The offender then grabbed an item from the display and attempted to leave the business. The on duty clerk reacted and stopped the offender from leaving and after a struggle with the offender was able to detain the subject long enough for police to be called by a witness. Police arrived on scene and took the offender into custody and transport him. The Cook County States Attorney reviewed the case presented by Summit Officers and approved one count of Robbery and he was also charged with one count of Criminal damage to property. The offender was processed accordingly and transported to the 5th District Court House for Bond hearing.
