On August 1, 2025, at approximately 1453 hours, a hit-and-run accident occurred at the intersection of Federal St and Union St. A black Chevrolet truck struck another vehicle and fled the scene.

A short time later, Milton Officers located the pickup truck in the area of Union St and Morris Ave. A traffic stop was conducted, and the operator was found to be impaired after testing.

The operator, identified as 46-year-old, Steven Moore of Laurel, Delaware, was transported to the Milton Police Department for further processing. He was charged with 5th offense DUI, along with other traffic-related offenses in reference to the accident.

The individual was given a $8,001.00 cash bond and was turned over to the custody of the Sussex Correctional Institution after failing to post bail. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
