Incident Summary: Arrest Made in Connection with Assault on Tilney Street

On September 5, 2025, at approximately 2:54 a.m., the Milton Police Department responded to a residence on Tilney Street in Milton for a reported assault involving a weapon.

Upon arrival, officers identified the suspect as 23-year-old male Brandon Barto, who was taken into custody. Barto was arrested and formally charged with the following offenses:

• Strangulation or Suffocation (Felony)
• Assault in the Second Degree (Felony)
• Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree (Felony)

Barto was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2, where he was issued a No Contact Order with the victim and given a $72,000 Cash Bail. He was subsequently committed to the Sussex County Correctional Institution.
