Rainbow Gathering Information

Community Notification

Local law enforcement leaders have been meeting with local, state and federal partners since the Rainbow Family announced the location of this year’s annual gathering on June 14th. The gathering is occurring July 1 – 7 in the Medicine Bow Routt National Forest. More specifically, Adams Park, which is located in Routt County. Due to the proximity of the gathering and directions published by the Rainbow Family, Craig and Moffat County will experience a significant increase in vehicle and pedestrian traffic leading up to and then again after the gathering. Local law enforcement is keenly aware of the concerns surrounding the gathering and potential impacts to our community. Collectively, the police department and sheriff’s office have increased patrols and presence across the city and county. This includes a collaborative MCSO/CPD team focused on minimizing and mitigating the public safety impacts associated with the gathering.

We encourage the public to secure your vehicles, homes and personal belongings. All of which are sound practice anytime, regardless. Remain aware of your surroundings and look out for one another. If you see something that doesn’t look right or seems suspicious, please notify law enforcement.
