Recreation Safety Advisory

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is urging caution when recreating on Plateau Creek.  Flows on Plateau Creek are forecast to increase throughout Memorial Day weekend. 

High water creates challenges and hazards that can be dangerous.  Limited clearance underneath bridges as well as an increased amount of large debris, including trees and fencing, can be expected.

Know your limits when participating in any water activity, and always use an appropriate watercraft and well-fitting safety equipment.
