The Golden Police Department has been notified of a suspicious incident involving a party impersonating a Golden Police Sergeant.  This was by phone only, and included a caller ID indicating that the call was originating from the City of Golden.  There are multiple technologies that allow subjects to mask their true identity and location.  Just as you would for other suspicious calls, if you receive a call from someone stating they are a member of the Golden Police Department, you can verify their information in multiple ways.  The Police Department Crimewatch

With the spring and summer months in full swing, more people are out and about, and staying out later in the evenings.  In 2021, the city of Golden has seen a decrease in car break-ins overall.  This decrease right now is about 5 percent below average.  Did you know though, of the vehicle break-in reports that we take, over 60 percent of the vehicles were left unlocked and unsecured.  Let's work together to lower the break-in rate.
