The Canon City Police Department is seeking information from anyone who might have knowledge of a burglary that occurred around midnight on December 27, 2024, at the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars building, located at 215 N. Cottonwood Ave. The suspect in the case was able to steal over $3,000.00 in cash and additionally created damage that was estimated to be in excess of $1,000.00. Information leading to the arrest of the suspect in this case could result in a cash award.
On December 27, 2024 at approximately 1:34 p.m., employees called police after discovering a break-in that occurred the previous evening. When officers arrived, the officers processed the scene and conducted a neighborhood canvas of the area to try and locate any witnesses or surveillance footage.
Officers/Detectives were able to isolate still photographs from video surveillance of the suspect in this case, however, are unable to make a clear identification of the suspect.
