Below is the official press release from the Pennsylvania State Police:
Lancaster, PA – On July 24, 2024, at approximately 6:19 AM, the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop J, Lancaster Criminal Investigation Unit was conducting a warrant service pursuant to an ongoing investigation on the 600 block of East Fulton Street in Lancaster City. A PSP Corporal assigned to the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was assisting with the warrant service when a suspect opened fire and shot him in the arm.
The Corporal suffered a non-life-threatening bullet wound to his arm and was transported to Lancaster General Hospital. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody on scene without injury. No shots were fired by law enforcement involved in this incident.
The Troop J Major Case Team was activated and responded to the scene to investigate this incident. There is no threat to the public. The Corporal is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery. Further information will be disseminated as it becomes available.
