Lancaster City Police made their 33rd firearms-related arrest of 2016. On June 13, 2016 at 3:08 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 100 blk. of S. Ann St. for a weapons call. Arriving officers were told by county dispatch that an unknown male was threatening to shoot his girlfriend, and that the suspect had fled in a brown Toyota. With assistance from Lancaster Safety Coalition cameras operators, officers quickly located the vehicle and stopped it in the first block of S. Lime St. The suspect, a 17-year-old male, Manheim Township resident, was a passenger in the vehicle. The suspect immediately told officers that he had a gun in his pocket. Officers located a loaded Taurus PT111 G2 semi-automatic hand gun in the suspect's front left pocket. The 17-year-old was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Minor and Carrying a Firearm Without a License. He was committed to the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center.
