On Sunday, February 11th, 2024, during the morning hours, the Palmer Lake Police Department (PLPD) was informed that there were multiple thefts from vehicles in the area. All of the vehicles that had items stolen were unlocked allowing the subject to open the doors without issue. During the initial investigation, footprints leading to multiple vehicles were found. Several items were stolen out of the vehicles including electric tools, and a wallet with multiple credit and debit cards.
A few hours later one of those cards that was stolen was used at a grocery store in the Colorado Springs area. On a single transaction, several hundred dollars was charged to the card.
We are asking for your assistance in identifying the suspect in this case. A photo from security camera footage shows the suspect who is described as a white male in his 40s, with dark salt and pepper hair, approximately 5 ft 7 in, thin build, wearing a green quilted coat, black pants, and brown (Heydude) shoes. The Suspect is believed to have left the grocery store in a white or silver Nissan Xterra. A picture of the suspect has been attached to this notice.

As a reminder, PLPD would like to stress the importance of checking that your vehicles are locked and secured and that no valuables such as wallets, purses, or electronics, are left in the vehicle. If the need arises that these items need to be left inside your vehicle, ensure they are secured and out of the view of someone looking into the vehicle.
